What you need to know about gear pumps
Pump failures are almost always caused by wear and tear.
Due to their design, the gears and the cylinder (housing) wear out over time. Repairing them, even if one hopes to do so, cannot be profitable, since the manufacture of a complete housing or its bushing can only be profitable in series production because of its design. Any other attempt to restore the original condition is far below factory quality. Not to mention the worn gear profiles, which fit together with a tolerance of 0.005 mm at the factory.
In other words, the concept of repair is meaningless for gear pumps.

What are the error symptoms?
Faults may be that the pump is either not pushing or not pushing hard enough, is seized, leaking at the shaft or leaking "at the back”, or the shaft may be broken, or is noisy during operation. Unfortunately, most of these cannot be repaired professionally.
It is useless to replace the internal gear pair, as the aluminium housing itself wears, so the gap between the moving parts will be far greater than the required fit. The latter is the reason for the increase in the so-called gap oil pressure, which then squeezes the pump seal.
"The oil is leaking, I just need to replace the seal!" - they say to our customer service team every day, which may seem logical. However, due to the above, we do not undertake these repairs and we do not sell spare parts for gear pumps. The good news is that in most cases, we can provide a replacement pump, and quite quickly.
